To begin: A desk. A window. A wall.
In the space of a few weeks, I find already this small corner in a long light filled room bursting with images, colours, objects and birthing merging ideas. The spaces I inhabit I turn into bowers, home to and adorned by all the treasures I collect, the beauties and uglies that catch my eye. My bedroom that doubles as a studio is the same, but bursting at the seams, and runs out through the shared space of the house. I find myself compelled to collect these objects, transfixed by some quality in them. Be this their texture, fragility, absurdity, impracticality, ridiculousness, exquisiteness, or their aesthetic quality.
Constantly surrounded with stimulating material, as with a crowd of people the details blur and the definition is lost. And for me these objects are as much security as inspiration.
